$2,500.00 Alex StreetThe Sigma Nu Beta Chapter at the University of Virginia is one of the university’s oldest and most service-oriented fraternities, originally founded in 1870. Guided by the values of love, truth, and honor, the brotherhood fosters both character development and community leadership among its members.
Philanthropy is central to Beta Chapter’s identity. The brothers collectively contribute over 1,600 volunteer hours each year through activities such as meal packaging at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, local education support, and sustainable living projects. In recent years, the chapter has raised thousands of dollars for causes including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Sexual Assault Resource Agency of Charlottesville, and Service for Sight.
Building on this foundation, the Sigma Nu Beta Chapter is excited to expand its philanthropic reach by engaging with new initiatives like Mustaches4Kids (M4K). By joining efforts like M4K, the Beta Chapter seeks to combine creativity with service — continuing to strengthen its culture of giving back to both the University of Virginia community and greater Charlottesville.
