The time I thought a coach would actually punch me. And I would have deserved it. ???? It was my junior year and track season had started. It was picture day and I the night before my sister braided my hair to help my Afro grow. I didn’t think about pictures the next day. When I arrived at practice with my hair braided, I thought Coach Burton was going to either have a coronary or punch me dead in my mouth. He was extremely pissed that I came looking like I ran track in Hobbs. (The track guys know what that means). It was probably the hardest practice I ever suffered. Here is the picture.
