Good evening Monarchs,
I have spent this day recovering from what I believe has been one of the best reunion experiences I have ever had. I can only hope that every person who attended last night's event feels the same.
Some of the program highlights we enjoyed started with an amazing video put together by your reunion committee and produced by Matt Duran. The video featured pictures from our days at Manzano with corresponding music from the time period. Committee members were interviewed by Matt about their favorite memories, activities, and teachers. It ended with a tribute to the Breakfast Club movie. I think it set the tone of the evening as your fellow classmates spent time renewing friendships, refreshing their existing friendships, and starting new friendships. The digital Photo Booth was a hit. Take a look at the photos either on the reunion website or Facebook. I think you'll agree a good time was being had by all. We had the DJ laying the songs of our generation and the dance floor full. The food was amazing especially the fry bread tacos. The most amazing part was we had more attendees for this reunion than we had for any of the others, with about 148 in attendance. At 11 o'clock when the night was over, the place was still packed and the dance floor was still full. Paul Wynn said we were gonna need to pull the fire alarm to get these people to leave. haha.
What we heard from many of those in attendance was how much fun it was to around their old friends again. That our class had a special connection that made the time apart nonexistent and we just picked up where we left off.
I hope that you will consider joining the reunion website and staying in touch with these renewed relationships. Share your pictures, exchange contact information, update our memorial page with friends we lost but are not yet aware. We are planning to maintain the website for future reunions and other planned get togethers throughout the coming months and years. Let's try to build our future reunions by maintaining this space as it allows us to stay as connected and allows you to determine what level you are comfortable sharing.
