Memphis Catholic High School instituted its Hall of Fame in 2010 inducting the first class into the Hall of Fame in the autumn of 2011. The physical presence of Memphis Catholic High School came to an end when the school closed its doors for the final time at the close of the school year in May 2019.
Yet, legacy is never defined by bricks and buildings, but rather by the lives of those who have been there. With the closing of Memphis Catholic High School, Hall of Fame member George Bone led the effort to carry forth the tradition by forming the Memphis Catholic Hall of Fame Association to continue to recognize and honor former graduates and faculty who have distinguished themselves in life and in their profession. The work of the Hall of Fame Association is also to continue to promote a camaraderie among the former students of Memphis Catholic High School and its affiliated Heritage High Schools (Catholic High School for Boys, Saint Augustine High School, Father Bertrand High School, and Sacred Heart High School for Girls).
The Memphis Catholic Hall of Fame Association Board of Directors are fully responsible for all aspects of the work of the association including overseeing the process of nominating, voting and inducting a new class of Hall of Fame members each year. Of the thousands who have graduated from Memphis Catholic and its Heritage High Schools, there are currently 140 members that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. On Saturday, October 19, 2024, we will induct our newest class at our Annual Dinner and Induction at TPC Southwind in Memphis, TN.
Any alumni of Memphis Catholic High School or any of its legacy high schools can nominate any alumni of the same. The nomination process commences in Feburary and is open for about a 6-week window. All valid nominations are then presented in detail to current Hall of Fame Members in May. They then individually cast their votes for the next induction class into the Hall of Fame. The new induction class is generally announced in late June and inducted the following October.
