- I was adopted when I was three days old and sold for $10 by the State of South Carolina to my parents. Two years ago, I went on a journey to find my biological family, thanks to my dear friend and classmate Janet Brown. Long story short, I found them in North Carolina and have built a beautiful relationship with my sisters, a niece and a nephew.
- I took up curling. In addition to shipping teams, I became a club coach, including coaching a blind curling team to bronze and silver medals. I love to travel and cycled a month in France, Germany and Denmark - seeing four stages of the Tour de France.
- My husband and I rented a farmhouse in Scotland for two months that was on the same farm Will and Kate lived on when they went to University of St. Andrews. It was owned by a distant cousin of William. This is the family that owned the land the "old course" is on now. They couldn't decide whether to make it a rabbit farm or start something new called golf!
- I worked on a yacht in Europe for nine months, built boats and sailed from Australia to England around Cape Horn.
- I hung out with Sam Elliott backstage after taping a segment of "The Ranch".
- I spent the night in the Tower of London in a haunted room (sorry, no ghost story).
- I represented Lubbock as "Community Ambassador" to Spain in 1980. I won an all-expense-paid trip for six weeks and made presentations to 22 organizations in Lubbock.

I have climbed into the pyramids in Egypt, swam and hiked the Galapagos Islands, scuba dived in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, climbed Machu Picchu in Peru, and dog sledded in Alaska with the Iditarod team.
- I'm still alive after a ruptured appendix (lost 65 pounds), a pituitary tumor, a stroke and a replaced knee. My first wife said I was the Six Million Dollar Man; I think it's more like a couple thousand dollars.
