David Becht, after a courageous journey with cancer, passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 69.
David instilled in his family a deep appreciation for the wonders of nature and a love for adventure. He had an insatiable curiosity and a playful spirit that led him into many wonderful, mischievous situations. His sense of fun was contagious, and he was always ready for the next adventure. Often found in his favorite blue jeans and flannel shirts, David also had an abiding love for duct tape, which he believed could solve nearly any problem. If there was a body of water, David would be the first to jump in and the last to leave. He loved walking his dog, engaging with neighbors, and always had multiple projects on the go.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Becht; his daughters, Kia Bratz and her husband, Austin Bratz, and Amy Botha and her husband, Leendert Botha; and his siblings, Doug Becht, Kathy Wolf, Karen Becht, Richard Becht, and Kris Fieldseth. He will also be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible individuals and teams who provided care, support, and love throughout David's journey. Special thanks to Dr. Steven McCormack, the nurses at Regions Hospital Cancer Care Center, Anne Reiber, Dr. Jim Risser, and Our Lady of Peace. We are also deeply grateful to the family and friends who stood by us and shared their unwavering love and support.
A celebration of David's life will be held on December 6, 2024, at St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church in Eagan. The schedule for the day is as follows:
• 9:00-11:00 AM: Visitation
• 11:00 AM-12:00 PM: Service
• 12:00-1:00 PM: Light Refreshments & Gathering with Family
In honor of David's spirit, flannel shirts are encouraged but not required. We invite all who knew him to come share stories, laughter, and memories as we celebrate his full and vibrant life.

His family and friend deeply loved him - He is dancing in heaven with his dog Sam, Mother RuthAnn, and all the softball guys that have gone before him.
