Debbie Stamm

"Here is a young girl, sixteen years old, who had a big dream and wanted to do something beautiful with her life."
Debbie did accomplish something very beautiful. Through her deep faith, she carried this dream and love to everyone who knew her. Debbie, a true Notredamian and a member of the class of 1975, died on February 3, 1973. If we think of her death as a fulfillment of her dream, our own aspirations will become more attainable with a deepening of our faith.
"And so faith denies death, old age, and nothingness. If one has faith, if he nourishes it through prayer and the Sacraments, Man's life lights up with a special light. We must believe that beyond the shadows shines a great light, indescribable in the language of man. Debbie is now surrounded by this kind of light. She is now forever with God, after having taken His word and answered to His will with great courage, faith and trust."
Quotations are taken from the homily given by the celebrant, Fr. DeLange, on February 6, 1973 at Debbie's funeral Mass of the Resurrection.
