Dr. Maegan Wallace is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Phoenix Children’s in Phoenix, AZ. She is passionate about caring for her patients with OI and is so excited to be bringing awareness to OI and to support the OI Foundation by joining her fellow OIF MAC members Dr. Jeanne Franzone and Dr. Reid Sutton on July 21st, along with physicians from the United Kingdom and Europe for Medics on the March!
Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a rare and complex genetic disorder of collagen that is often characterized by fragile bones. There is no cure for OI, but thanks to programs like this, there are now treatments available to manage symptoms, minimize fractures, enhance independent function and promote general health. Proceeds will help the OI Foundation respond to more than 11,000 inquires each year for medically verified information and support; produce new information resources for individuals and medical professionals; fund research and facilitate support groups across the country for the nearly 50,000 men, women and children affected by OI in the United States.
