2003-01-31He died on as a result of an automobile accident in Jackson Township. He was on active duty, stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and he was an Army Ranger with the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, returning from Afghanistan one week before the accident. He received the Army Accommodation Medal for his service in Afghanistan. He was in the U.S. Army since 1997).

Shannon Rose Geiger, 32, of St. Thomas and formerly of Pocono Summit, died unexpectedly Friday, July 31, at home.
Born in Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of Charles and Linda Bass) Geiger of Pocono Summit.
She was a graduate of Pocono Mountain High School. She was employed as an office clerk for Food Lion Supermarket.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two children, Anthony and Chelsea Barre; her fiance, Neal Warfield of St. Thomas; two sisters, Jaclyn and Evelyn Geiger (passed away 2016); two nephews, Sheamus Clavey and Aiden Geiger; and several aunts and uncles

Cynthia Gerrity Gaito, age 45, of Albrightsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Monroe
County Hospice House after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was the fiancée of Paddy
McGinley.
Cynthia was born January 26, 1977 in East Stroudsburg and was the daughter of the late Paul L. Gerrity
Sr. and Ruth D. Gerrity. She attended Pocono Mountain High School and Penn State University. She
was well known as a bartender at the former Dansbury Depot. She also worked at United Envelope but
over the past few years she worked alongside her fiancé in his flooring business, McGinley Floors.

Edwin Silva
1976-05-25 2011-03-06Edwin "Chinito" Silva, 34, of Tobyhanna, passed away on Sunday, March 6 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Michelle (Avosso) Silva. Edwin was employed as an operations supervisor for Federal Express in Pocono Summit. A 1995 graduate of Pocono Mountain High School, he wrestled and was starting quarterback in football. Edwin (#56), also known as Tiny, was manager and star pitcher for the 2007 softball league champions "Outkast". He was also captain and pitcher for the 2010 softball league champion "Panthers".
