Michael Frokjer

Graduation year: 1974
Deceased Date: 2021-12-06
Obituary:
Michael G. Frokjer Obituary
Michael G. Frokjer, age 65, of Chisago City, MN died on December 6th after a battle with cancer. Mike was born to Grant and Eileen Frokjer on July 8, 1956 and was the 4th of 7 kids. Mike was a 1974 graduate of Alexander Ramsey Highschool in Roseville, MN and then served in the US Army from 1974-1980. These years provided for many epic adventures, stories, and a few “run-ins” with the law.

Mike spent the majority of his career with the MN State Department of Corrections (another source for his epic stories). During this time, he was finally able to snag “the one”, Shannon Crittenden, and hold on to her for the past 20 years.

Mike leaves behind two daughters and one son who he was extremely proud of: Sharon (Kevin) Weber, Cara Frokjer, and Grant Frokjer. He will also be missed by his two granddaughters Lilian and Alex Weber, whom he adored. Also left to keep his stories alive are his siblings Renee Hunt, Brian (Arlene) Frokjer, Lynn Thompson (Bill Evans), Connie Vick, and his friend that felt like family Darby Bunnell, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins that wanted to hang out near him, because you just knew he was going to say or do something good. It’s not that he was a great storyteller, it’s that he WAS the story!

He will be having a reunion in heaven with his parents Grant and Eileen, his brother Kevin Frokjer, sister Denise Jenni, his brother-in-law Gerald Vick, nephew Chad Frokjer and many aunts and uncles and a handful of cousins that passed before him. Mike always brought the beer and ice for our family gatherings, so they will be happy to see him.

The stories of his amazing life will continue on December 14th at Roberts Funeral Home in Forest Lake, MN. Visitation from 12:30-3 PM with a short service beginning at 3 PM. Immediately after the service, all friends and family are invited to his favorite saloon Scooters in Chisago City - because you can’t afford not to drink there (his words, not ours)!

A private interment at Roselawn Cemetery will follow on December 15th.
