                                                     1964 Rangers Unite!

LAST DAY TO PURCHASE TICKETS IS MARCH 1, 2024

We invite you to join us on March 15th and 16th, 2024 to engage in re-living memories from the years 1960 – 1964
2024 is the 60th anniversary of our high school graduation. Please plan to attend and reconnect with friends and/or make new ones.
In 1964 for the most part, we were gawky teenagers seeking new adventures as we said goodbye to high school and pondered “What Next?”. Many attended college; some married and started families; some established businesses or started working to earn a salary; and sadly, some headed off to war. How we started and how we’ve ended up 60 years later is our collective story.
Here are a Few to remember:
The Rincon parking lot had some “cool” cars – most notably - a few “cherry” 57 Chevys, an Avanti, a Corvette or two, a Willys Jeep with red and white tuck and roll, a black ’39 Ford, and the lesser “cool” Plymouths, Chevys, Oldsmobiles, Buicks, Dodges, Fords, and Studebakers.
President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law in 1964
Sandy Koufax pitched his third no-hitter game
Martin Luther King received the Nobel Peace Prize
The Beatles made their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show and then embarked on their first World Tour with 10 songs
The Rolling Stones toured with Bobby Vee and Bobby Goldsboro
Elizabeth Taylor married Richard Burton for the first time
The Boston Strangler was captured
G.I. Joe (action figure) joined Barbie
Mariner 4 Spacecraft is launched to photograph and study Mars
President Johnson declared a War On Poverty
There was so much more in ’64………………So plan NOW to join us at the Viscount Suites in Tucson March 15th and 16th and bring those yearbooks, memorabilia, and pictures to add to our displays.
The Friday evening event is a no host visiting session at the hotel in Wilbur’s Bar to reconnect with friends and catch up on years of news and life events.
On Saturday there will be a tour of Rincon in the morning and a picnic in the early afternoon with food from the Lucky Wishbone provided by 1964 graduate Ken Henry.
Saturday evening will be another time to be with friends. For those who register and pay, dinner will be an Italian Buffet and a cash bar. We will display Rincon photos and yearbooks, and enjoy music from our era.
