Robert Lee "Bobby" Burgess, 71, of Dunbar, WV, passed away unexpectedly at home after a short illness. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert R. Burgess; mother, Iva Lou Burgess, and wife, Vickie Cummings. Bobby is survived by family, many friends and anglers. Bobby was a life long resident of Dunbar and the Sissonville areas. He owned and operated many different companies over the years and will always be best known for Trail of Dreams. A semi-professional tournament fishing series started with his wife Vickie and operated for many years in the state and surrounding areas. Bobby played many sports in high school but his passion early on was fishing. He was quick with a smile and willingness to help those in need. Through Trail of Dreams, he and Vickie helped charities such as Make a Wish, Toys for Tots, the American Cancer Society and many youth groups by promoting the sport of fishing. He was a supporter of the national fishing organizations and promoted many local businesses. Bobby was a past winner of the All American, an FLW Tournament and an avid hunter and sportsman. He loved the outdoors and being out in nature. He is survived by his uncle Carl Burgess and family; uncle Jim Burgess and family; uncle Charlie Burgess and family; and uncle Don Burgess and family; Connie, Gary and Travis Martin; Rick Coon; Tom Stump; Roy, Tammy and Alissa; Tony Keller; many fishing family and T.O.D. Crew.
