David Edward Boggess, 74, of Dunbar, WV, passed away from a short illness on October 3, 2023, at CAMC Memorial Hospice. with his wife by his side.
He was the son of the late David Eugene Boggess and Mildred Jean (Shuck) Boggess. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Wayne “Bucky” Boggess.
David is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda (Jarrett) Boggess.
David and his wife were the owners/operators of Black Angus Deli Meats in St. Albans, WV, for 22 years; where he strived to satisfy our customers’ requests for the best meat in the valley. He enjoyed spending his free time working on cars with his uncles and cousins and he loved to go fishing. And, he had command of the grill at all the family cookouts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to Dunbar First Baptist Church, 311 18th Street, Dunbar, WV 25064.
Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Dunbar First Baptist Church, with Pastor David Keeney officiating. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.
Visitation will begin one hour prior at the church.
