We are wanting to give a gift from our class to SLOHS.

Possible ideas include a bench with engraved plaque, a tree with plaque at base, a lunch for teachers and staff, etc. Depending on the amount raised, we will choose a gift depending upon the amount raised. More information to come once we obtain estimates for various gift options. Please let us know your ideas and consider donating any amount.

-Donations to SLOHS: A more general gift would allow us to support our current programs and initiatives in a range of ways. This would also allow us to support events that express gratitude for staff, like a lunch at the end of the school year before our graduation ceremony. If money is donated for this purpose, we could have the end-of-the-year lunch publicly sponsored by the class of 1995.

-T-Shirts: Our Advanced Graphics Design students work with clubs--as their clients--and design shirts. They also design shirts for big events: local film festivals, Tiger Olympics, etc. We've invested in nice screen printing stations, and our students know how to use these and can sling out shirts by the hundreds. It's pretty rad. The missing piece, though, is that we aren't allowed to use site funds to purchase the t-shirts themselves, and we rely on donations to purchase them. An awesome gift would be to donate a large amount of money for T-Shirts of all sizes. We would then be able to outfit our student body, clubs, etc., in great shirts that represent our school well. As we know, too, having a special SLOHS-related T-Shirt is a powerful way to feel connected to our school and community. With whatever money comes in for this gift, we would purchase the shirts right away and store them for these great school activities and school events. As we debut the shirts (through social media, school newsletters, etc., we could add a thank you to the class of 1995 for the gift).

-Permanent AV System in Gym: We have big pep rallies and assemblies in the big gym (which used to be called the new gym) and we frequently host parent nights and community events in there as well. We don't have a nice AV system in the gym for these events and currently use a normal projector and stand-up screen. For $50,000, we could have a high-quality projector mounted to the wall, a large screen that drops down from the gym's ceiling, and the sound connected to our gym's sound system. It would be amazing, and it would not only allow us to have more high-quality AV presentations in our gym, it would open up new possibilities for what we can do in that space. Obviously, $50,000 is a lot of money. If $10,000 comes in for the gift, we could purchase the projector now and begin using it with our current, smaller, stand-up screen. We can then keep fundraising for the bigger project, and would be able to mount that projector to the wall at a later time.
