Mark, reading this brings back the memories. From our time at St Jerome and then on to St Joseph. May you continue to run through the hills of heaven.
tribute by Steve KobeMark and I ran track during our sophomore year. Mark was a strong runner, and he became a good friend because of his outgoing personality and his ability to, seemingly, be comfortable in almost any situation. He called Collinwood his neighborhood, and I believe he had a number of sisters in a large Irish-Catholic family. We went to a few mixers where Mark would walk up to a girl at the dance and make comfortable conversation, later taking her out to the dance floor. Quite an accomplishment for a sophomore. I did not have that level of confidence. At the end of our sophomore year I decided to transfer to Borromeo High School in Wickliffe, and our paths did not cross thereafter. I later heard that after graduation Mark joined the military - where he served as a lineman, which I believe was his father's profession. I eventually heard that Mark continued this career in civilian life, but sadly fell off of a high tower to his death. I believe this happened when he was in his 20's.
