I must admit, I knew Jonathan while in school, but not all that well. But in the middle 80s and early 90’s I came to realize that he was devoted to our school, especially the boys basketball team. I enjoyed taking my young family to Saint Joe’s basketball games. I always looked for Jonathan, Jim Ferrito and Pat McKinley in the crowd. Jonathan rarely missed a game. He loved Saint Joe’s, especially Saint Joe’s basketball. All I really know of Jonathan‘s life outside of these very exciting games we shared together, was that he had a passion for magic. I am fairly certain that he actually owned a magic shop somewhere in the Painesville area. I do know that Jonathan died young and with his passing went one of Saint Joe’s basketball teams best fans. I Never go to a Saint Joe’s basketball game without thinking of him. Rest in peace Jonathan, I am really glad I got to know you better and share these times with you, Joe Cerino
