I would like Brian's children to know what a wonderful person their father was. He was a great friend, always quick to lend a hand or a smile. He always made me feel welcome in his home. I will forever think of Brian with that grin on his face. Please know that Brian will not be forgotten.

I went to high school with Brian. He was always energetic and smiling and such fun to have in class. My first Phila. Flyer Ice Hockey game was with Brian and Sue Bond. It was such fun - they threw raw meat on the ice to get the players pumped. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Brian was the funniest person I knew growing up. He was always entertaining us and, I must admit, I have stolen some of his material to entertain my children (Betty Botter bought some butter....). He was from a whole wonderful family and I know they miss him. RIP, buddy.

Paul Hoifjeld

Paul Luther Hoifjeld of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania died Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Phoenixville Hospital.  He was 64 years old.  Paul was born February 20, 1955, beloved son of Rev. Clairold and Virginia Hoifjeld (nee - Helberg); brother of Grace Esther Klick and her husband Ronald, Mark Wesley Hoifjeld, and Ruth Deborah Hoifjeld.

The following obituary was composed and submitted by Grace Klick.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another”
Ephesians 4:32

Such a simple premise, and yet seemingly far too difficult to find in the world of today.  My brother, Paul, in  his own version of life, chose to grab hold of this Christian concept for as far back as I can remember.  Outside of the now insignificant sibling rivalry that escapes no family, Paul’s outlook on life, and the way he treated others, was nothing less than kind and compassionate.

Being born into a strong Christian household does not guarantee that one will automatically follow Jesus’s teachings and apply them from the heart.  Somewhere along the way, very early on, Paul developed a sincere desire to be interested in other people.  It was not his place to judge, and he knew that internally from a very young age.

Paul’s integrity is what inspired me most.  At the age of seven, I learned that Paul (who was eight at that time) had something that I wouldn’t develop for years.  I didn’t know what it was back then, but I knew that I wanted to have it.

I’ve heard it said that, “The person you are is not determined by how many people you love ... but by how many people love you.”  Whether or not anyone might debate that is neither here nor there.  Paul loved many ... and so very many loved Paul.

Countless stories and experiences have come my way since Paul died.  ... Stories from friends, relatives and acquaintances.  ...Stories of Paul, at all points in his life, giving of himself to help another.  Some of these I knew.  Many just reinforced what I already knew.  Paul was special.

Although later in life, Paul developed a number of illnesses, it is the wonderful gifts that God bestowed upon him that people remember.

Paul was brilliant.  He was put on independent study in Junior High School because the teachers didn’t know what else to teach him.  He received the science award at his graduation in a class of four hundred.

Paul was able to hear a song on the radio and sit down and play it by ear on the piano.  He taught himself how to play the guitar as well.

Paul had an amazing artistic sense.  His paintings and drawings were something beyond good.

Through his adult years and different illnesses, I was blessed to know Paul in a different way.   As he acted less on his God given talents ... he maintained an outward expression of care and concern for others.   He would meet someone of a different background and he would learn what he could of their language.   He would talk to others of a different religion and he would ask them questions about their beliefs.  I never saw or heard him judge anyone.

Paul was named after the apostle in the Bible.  One of the last times I spoke with Paul on the phone he was saying, “Praise God!”  All things considered, it seems appropriate that we close with some words from the apostle Paul.   ... Words that reflect how Paul lived his life.

“Love is patient and kind.  Love is not jealous.  It does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked.  It does not keep account of the injury.  It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.  It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails.”
1 Corintihians 13:4-8

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 2:30 P.M. and memorial service at 3:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

Craig Holt-Graduation 1973

Craig Holt - 1955 - 2004

Craig Holt graduated from Upper Dublin with us in 1973 and attended Penn State University. Graduating with a major in land management, he moved out west to seek employment. Eventually he settled in Roseburg, Oregon.  He worked for the US Dept of Land Management in the capacity of managing log contracts in the Oregon area. Also, he was an active forestry fire fighter, and even worked in Alaska fighting fires. A real outdoorsman, he loved to ski, bike, and hike throughout the Oregon wilderness. Divorced with a daughter, he would come back “east” each year to see his family and close friends. Unexpectantly and without prior medical issues, just prior to his 50th birthday in 2004, he died of a sudden brain aneurysm.

Timothy Michael McInerney passed away February 10th after a sudden illness. He had just celebrated his 64th birthday a few weeks prior on December 26th. Tim embraced life. He was an incredibility positive, fun and optimistic person. He was married to his best friend Janine (Andrejczak) for 35 years. Ten years into their marriage their lives were blessed and enriched by having three children in three years, Michael and Janine (twins), and Catherine McInerney. Family life was fun and at times an exhausting riot. Tim is also survived by his sister Peggy Whalen and brother-in-law Joe, and their daughters, Melissa (Pettit) and her husband Dan, Megan and Katie. Also, his sister-in-law Nancy (Andrejczak), brother-in-law and golf partner Craig Morrow and their children Jacqueline and Ryan; brother-in-law John Andrejczak. His parents, Dennis and Jane, and brother Dennis as well as Janine’s parents Tekla and Michal, who he helped care for, preceded his death.

With an infectious smile, kind and loving personality, and ability to tell great funny stories, Tim enjoyed a life enriched with many friends and professional success.  He loved cooking, his early career was in the restaurant business where he worked as a chef and later as a restaurant and club manager, even John Travolta’s body guard for a night. After a short period, Tim sought greater opportunities and was accepted into the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He attended while working full time and graduated cum laude in 1989. Tim went into investment management.  With his optimism and ability to explain complex ideas simply, he had great success as top sales manager and mentor for a number of years. After a few decades, having built a great personal portfolio and growing weary of the corporate world, he left to open his own investment firm, Calvin Investment Group.

Tim loved great food, cooking for family and friends, golfing and great conversation. Family and friends all have several favorite ‘Timmy’ stories. He enjoyed dinner parties and the years his children were on the swim team at Maple Manor Swim Club, which offered a wonderful social life. He looked forward to family vacations which often included extended family and friends. In addition to his dedication to his family, he was involved with several community groups: Alcoholics Anonymous, Mattie Dixon Community Cupboard and Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, where he cooked for Chosen 300.  Tim was his wife’s greatest supporter.  His legacy and overwhelming joy and pride are the wonderful and kind young adults his children have become.
