"VENTURA - Gregg passed away Dec 19,2020 in Ventura, CA. He was a lifelong resident in Ventura. He was born December 27th 1956. He went to E.P. Foster and Avenue elementary schools, then to De Anza Junior High and Graduated at Ventura High School in 1975. He was active in Coast Little League and VYBA Basket- ball. His dad Gabe coached these sports. He was also a member of the Boys Club on Olive Street. He loved all sports and outdoor activities. Bike rides to beach and fishing on the pier with his buddies Steve Collins and Ray Danner. At Ven- tura High School he played basketball and shared Most Valuable Player along with his friends Vince Miller and Jesse Martinez. In 1985 Gregg started his own Janitorial Business and married Michelle Wingate and had two children. He also worked as a water truck driver for the oil fields where he retired. Gregg enjoyed camping at Rincon beach and Lake Casitas with his family and friends. he had many good friends and neighbors. He loved to make his Beef Jerky every Christmas for friends and family. He had many backyard barbeques and horseshoe games with neighbors and family. He took many trips to Yosemite and cruised to Mexico his last adventure. I le always liked to stay busy with home improvements around the house, cement walkways, overhangs and landscape to enhance life at home. He was always ready with a mop and squeegee handy to make a better day. Gregg loved to play blackjack in Vegas, Chumash and The Players Club. He loved nature, sunsets, ocean, wildlife and his pets over the years. He never went anywhere without his dog Harley. Gregg is preceded in death by his father Gabriel Olivas and Aunt Virginia Olivas. He is survived by his mother Noreen Olivas, daughter Seanna, son Gregg, Michelle Olivas, granddaughter Joy Lazaro, his sister Gayreen Lane (Mark), niece Lindsay Lane, Kiley and Dax, 1/2 sisters Megan and Amber Rodriguez and his beloved dog Harley. Thank you VCMC Doctors and Nurses who cared for Gregg his last days. Gregg will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of his life will be held TBA due to COVID."
