"Theodore 'Ted' John Clough
Theodore “Ted” John Clough, 46, of Ventura died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at his residence.
He was born June 2, 1957, in Los Angeles, and was a 34-year county resident, coming from Orange County. Ted was attending Ventura College and was an avid bodybuilder. Known for his laid-back California style, he could usually be seen cruising around Ventura on his bike with his parrot and longtime companion, Fredrica, on his shoulder. Ted was affectionately known by everyone in town as "the bird man."
Ted will be dearly missed by his beloved daughters, Jordan Lynn and Taylor Jean, and their mother, Bobby Howard, all of Mesa, Ariz.; his mother, Patricia Mettler, and her partner, Dorothy Kolber, of Ventura; father, Loren Clough of Oxnard; sister and brother-in-law, Jill Marie and James Barber of Oxnard; grandmother. Ruby Mettler of Hot Springs, Ark; niece, Capri Clough of Oxnard; uncles, John Mettler of Chino and Rolf Hesse of Ventura; and aunts, Deena Kaaihue and Debra Goicoechea, both of Ventura.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Services will be held the same evening at 7 p.m., also at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jackie Holland Cragen of the Camarillo Church of Religious Science officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura."
