James "Jim" R Eckstrom

Graduation year: 1975
Deceased Date: 1984-07-28
Kathy Jackson Padden - March 11th, 2025
Jim's family was part of my Bible Fellowship Church life during VHS years. So my younger sister, Nancy and I often were given "rides home" by Jim after church events. We were in a touring group called BASICS. Jim played violin and sang several solos in a strong Tenor. He gave us tickets to his Buena High production of Fiddler on the Roof. We were so proud of Jim's dedication and talent. Jim was also a crack-up and so very cute in his Speedo when we swam at the Neath Street Community Pool... (well... he knew he had dimples!) BASICS was "Brothers and Sisters in Christ" and I was the pianist for two musical shows that toured California with Jim. I dated another VHS Waterpolo athlete so I also got to see Jim play a really MEANguy game in the VHS pool. I like to think that I knew Jim pretty well after so many times being with his other brothers at their beach house. I still see his parents. Just hugged them at a 90th birthday January2025. When I last saw Dan... we were singing together. Gosh. Love these men. Very happy to have been one of Jim's friends.
