Frank served three years in the United States Army as an airborne paratrooper. He served seven years as a reservist in the Army National Guard. Frank was employed at 3M and Ventura Pacific. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Serrano of Santa Paula; sons, Frank Steven Serrano Jr. of Ventura, and Matthew Serrano of Santa Paula; stepsons, Michael and Mark Cortez, both of Santa Paula; two grandbabies, which he loved very much, Mark Anthony "Markie" Cortez Jr. and Serena Marie Cortez; brothers, Luis "Louie" and Liz Serrano of Oregon, Richard Serrano of Ventura; sister, Theresa "Teri" and Roger Crumley of Ventura; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends. Frank will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.
The home above, we feel so sad, when those we love, are called to live in "the home above," but they have gone to prepare the way, and we'll meet them again some happy day, for God has told us, that nothing can sever a life created, to live on forever, so let God's promise, soften our sorrow, and give us new strength, for a brighter tomorrow.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Santa Paula. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Santa Paula. Internment will follow at Pierce Bros. Santa Paula Cemetery.
