"Laura Jean (Wingate) Carleton
VENTURA, CA
August 28, 1957-May 10,2018 Laura Jean Carleton was born on August 28, 1957 and became our angel on May 10. 2018 after suffering a heart attack at the age of 60. She was born in Ventura, California to Fayette "Joe" Wingate and Doris Wingate. Laura worked at Green Frog Market as a bookkeeper where she would retire from and become a fulltime grandma and wife.
She married her best friend, Dwight, November 15, 1997. She was a very devoted wife and you would always find them doing everything together. They shared many adven- tures together that included trips to Disneyland with the family, Florida that included visiting the white sandy beach- es and Walt Disney World, South Dakota, Mammoth, Tennessee. Las Vegas, Laughlin and many more.
She was the most dedicated loving mom that supported her daughters every day that later included sons-in-law that she adored and loved as her own. She was a very devoted daughter to her mother, Doris, who she was very close to.
One of her biggest joys was becoming a grandma. She was the most amazing devoted grandma to her five grand- children who she adored and did everything for. She loved spending every minute with them by attending every sport they played even if it was out of town and every school event she could. They always put a smile on her face, and she loved to spoil all of them.
Laura will always be remembered for her love for her family, her generous and kind heart and her love of the Dodgers, Disneyland, Halloween and her favorite holiday Christmas that included the best decorated house in the neighborhood inside and out. She never forgot a holiday, special occasion or a just because reason to send hallmark cards in the mail to anyone.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years Dwight, her daughter, Lindsay Davis, and son-in-law, Freddie, daughter, Nicole Flores and son-in-law, Julio, her five grandchildren, Kayla, Logan and Cooper Davis, Wyatt and Matthew Flores, Mother Doris Wingate, Aunt Laura Lee Mclean, two brothers and one sister.
She is preceded in death by her father, Fayette ‘Joe’ Wingate. Uncle Mac Mclean, grandson, Cody, and her fur baby who was her sidekick for many years, Kiana.
In honor of Laura, please wear blue or orange to the service on Monday, May 21st at 10am at Greenlawn Southwest.
Laura will be truly missed by us all every day, but her legacy will live on through her daughters, grandkids and husband.
