Lynette V. Barbosa, 58, of Ventura California lost her nearly year long battle with cancer on July 8, 2015 at 12:45PM at home surrounded by her loved ones. Lynette was born on July 8, 1957 in Wyoming to Wallace and Vida Lee. Lynette was raised in Ventura, California and met and dated her future husband Frank in Junior High. She was the youngest of three children. Lynette and Frank were married on January 19th, 1978. Lynette volunteered tirelessly at Ventura County Christian School organizing events such as the yearly Silent Auction. Lynette was at heart a crafter. Her Christian faith was an anchor in her life involved in countless activities at her Church, Ventura Baptist Church. Lynette is survived by her mother Vida Jenkins, her brother Marshall Lee and sister Linda Ontiveros; her husband of 37 years Frank Barbosa; her son A. Joshua Elder and his husband Paul; her son David and his wife Maria, their son FDR and David's daughter and Maria's stepdaughter Renee; her daughter Sabrina and husband Manuel Albis, and their daughter Isabella; her daughter Melissa, as well as brothers and sisters in law who loved her.

Lynette will be remembered as sweet, loving, and full of compassion by all those who've known her. Funeral services will be held at Ventura Baptist Church at 5415 Ralston Avenue, Ventura, California, at 11:00am, with Pastor Leonard officiating. Internment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard. A private reception for family will be held at the home of Hope and Edmund Lara. The Barbosa, Albis and Elder family would like to thank Dr. Milcah Larks at VCMC and the staff of Buena Vista Hospice for their tender care they provided for Lynette.

Memorials may be made in Lynette's name to the American Cancer Society.
