Barbara Jean Anderson died Friday, April 8, 1994, at the age of 39, at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born November 13, 1954 to Lawrence and Edith Sue Anderson. She had previously worked at University of Wisconsin Hospital and as a travel agent in California, Madison and Colorado. Barbara was very active in her church, helping instigate new programs and working with the vouth as well as elderly.

We will miss her upbeat attitude, her creativity, and her ever present sense of humor. Her family wishes to thank all who kept her in their thoughts and prayers over the years, to the staff at U.W. Hospital, and to Hospice for their care and support.

I learned of this loss many years too late and have so many happy memories of Barbie helping me cope with seventh grade. She was accused of having "baby talk" and I was still wearing white anklets and we were just not ready for prime time that year and grew close in our misfit club. I loved her very much. Then life changes took over and I didn't even stay in touch in high school or beyond. My loss.

I remember at either our 10th or 15th reunion (did we have a 15th?) when Barbie was telling me how sick she was with cancer. At the time we all seemed to have had so little life experience that it didn’t seem to register. How could someone so young be so sick? Her spirit was amazing and many times over the years I think about how beautiful she was in every way. If I figure out how to do it, I will post a picture of some of us from6th grade at Randall having a fund raiser. She was so cute in it. Ginny
