MADISON - Jim Heideman ("Junior"/ "Drovak"/ "Heide"/ "Sluggo"/ "JimBob"/ "TheBigMan"), age 51, passed away in his sleep on Monday, April 17, 2006, after a long struggle with alcoholism.

He was born Sept. 2, 1954, to Gerald and Donna Heideman. He grew up in Madison and was very active in sports.

He joined the Navy in 1972, and then worked for 7-Up Bottling Company before leaving to explore the country. He returned to Madison, having found his true talents in carpentry, music, training dogs, cooking and anything to do with trivia. He lived his life by his own rules. He had a big heart, and was always helping other people.

Jim's son meant the world to him, and will be in his heart forever. He is survived by his parents; his son, Jamie Prochnow (mother, Shelly Prochnow); his grandmother, Bertha; his sisters, Jodie (Tom) and Jacen (Phil); his brother, Jordan (Vicki); his nephews, Jared and Kyle; his nieces, Jamie Lee, Megan and Colleen; aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a college fund that has been established at Bank Mutual for his son. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the BLARNEY STONE, 4245 West Beltline Highway.
