Gregory M. Heimlich Obituary

Gregory Martin Heimlich, born November 16, 1952, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Robert and Kathleen Heimlich, passed away on October 6th, 2025. Raised in Madison, Gregory attended Our Lady Queen of Peace School, where he was a crossing guard and altar boy. He then went to Cherokee Junior High School and West High School, where he played baseball, basketball and football. In 8th grade, he was MVP after catching the most touchdown passes in the league.

 

Besides being an avid fisherman and camber, Gregory was known for his good sense of humor and lifelong passion for art. After studying Commercial Art at MATC in Milwaukee, he specialized in watercolor, lithographs, airbrush and oil painting. For over 40 years, he ran Gregory's Painting and Repairs. He is survived by his brother Steven Heimlich (Elizabeth), four nephews and two nieces, notably Joe Heimlich. Gregory lives on through the brilliant artwork he created over the years.

 

A celebration of Gregory's life and artwork will take place on November 22nd, 2025 at American Legion Post 501, located at 105 Dempsey Rd, Madison, WI 53714 from 11am to 2pm. Guests are invited to bring a dish to share along with any photos or artwork for everyone to view.
