He joined the Army in the ‘70s and was trained as a medic and stationed in Germany. He lived in Colorado for a time.
He was in and out of my life until I got an invitation out of the blue to his wedding to Becky in the ‘90s; then we stayed in contact fairly regularly. He even bought one of my motorcycles. After we moved and I started consulting in Joliet occasionally, we got together for dinner on many of my trips North.
He worked as a t...

Stephen Kirby
1951-10-18 1973-10-14
He is survived by parents W John and Marjorie Kirby and sisters Merle and Jean.
Services were held at Pederson Ryberg Funeral Home.
*****
J Stephen Kirby (21) passed away following a car crash fueled by drinking, drugs, and drag racing on Route 83 at a bridge abutment south of St Charles Road.
Thankfully, Steve had a come-to-Jesus moment at Calvary Temple Church in Naperville in August 1973 where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and received forgiveness of his sins. Because of this free gift, Steve will spend eternity in Heaven.
