What Are You Up To Now: I started working for Coolidge Wall Co., LPA in 1995 and I've been here 28 years. I hope to retire in 2025. I was married for 31 years when I lost my husband in 2008 to pancreatic cancer. He was only 54 and had just passed his 25 years as a police officer with the City of Dayton. We had four children. Our oldest Katie has been married to her husband since 2004 and they have two children McKenzie age 17 and Ethan age 16. Erin our middle daughter has been married since 2007 and she has three children Luke, age 14, Matthew, age 12 and Grace, age 9. My youngest daughter Ashley has been married since 2016 and they have one daughter, Sophia who will be 5 in November. My youngest child Philip has autism. Despite this, he earned an associate degree at Sinclair and has worked at Grandview Hospital since 2011. Even though life threw me a curve ball with David's passing, I feel blessed to have had a good life with a wonderful family.

What Are You Up To Now: Greetings fellow 1973 Classmates! I want to first give a thumbs up to all of us who have lived long enough to see these past 50 years, and also pause to remember those who are no longer with us. In some eyes, I may not have accomplished great fame and fortune, but I have no regrets. I have enjoyed a simple life and am content. My best friend, Mike, and I have been married for the last 46 ½ years. We have four amazing daughters who are married to wonderful men, plus four grandchildren and one more due in December. Mike was a journeyman carpenter before moving into management. We were blessed to have him work for the same company for 42 years. His job gave me the opportunity to have a semi- part-time job as a painter/wallcovering installer. I plan to retire by the end of this year. I have one last client/friend’s house to complete before I hang up my brushes for hire. All these blessings are from my Savior, Jesus Christ. Yes, I am a Christian. I have attended the same Bible-believing church for over 43 years. Fourteen years ago, God granted me saving grace from breast cancer. I was diagnosed six months after my first cousin had died. Also, my grandmother, oldest sister, and several other cousins had also died of this terrible disease. I now have a new perspective on what truly is important to me in this walk-through life. Not my chosen path, but I certainly learned who I was and how I wanted to walk to the end of my time here on earth. My husband’s and my jobs have afforded us the skills to remodel our daughters/son-in-law’s homes and two houses of our own. We began our final project – restoring an old farmhouse as our retirement “cabin” – across the street from where our third daughter and her family live. (The property they live on is where my husband grew up.) Many believed we should have just torn down the old farmhouse and started anew, but after an architect looked at the oak framing, he said it had good bones for the project. From gutting the entire two-story house of lathe and plaster walls and ceiling to installing new walls, ceilings, electric, plumbing, and HVAC. It has been all-hands-on-deck and a labor of love the past 5 ½ years. People tease us that our hobby is to work on old houses, but we do like to make old things look new. Our daughters, sons-in-law, and even grandkids have worked long, hard hours to make this house into our home. I loved designing the interior of the old house. It also kept us busy and safe during Covid. Our other hobbies are gardening, flowers and vegetables, and fishing. But our greatest joy is spending time with our family and friends. Life, as we all have learned, has its positives and negatives and most have been positive for me. I am so honored to have this opportunity to apologize to any of you that I may have in some way hurt or offended. I have learned over the last 50 years that it is good for me to admit my mistakes and go forward. In closing this long tale, I pray all of you enjoy your remaining years!
