Gail and I first met in Spanish class. Both of us tended to be quiet, and quickly formed a comfortable and nice friendship. Our paths crossed many times over our four years at Wilbur Wright, including serving on the Pilot Staff together our senior year. She was a gifted writer and went on to work as an Editor, Manager and Senior Copy Editor for Dayton Daily News. Gail was kind to everyone. Her smile was warm and she used it often. She was genuine and her presence always added something positive - offering an ear to listen to a classmate who was having a tough day, joining in the fun of whatever we were up to at the time, helping decorate for the dances, and participating in activities around school. Gail attended our 40th Reunion. It was great to see her and catch up. I was so sad when I learned that Gail passed in 2017. Rest in peace my friend.
