Nancy L. Tunison (formerly Reynolds), 67, of Cherry Valley, IL died Thursday, May 9, 2024 at OSF St. Anthony’s after complications caused by a recently diagnosed terminal illness.
Born in Rockford, IL on October 24, 1956 to Olga E. Leum and Raymond Tunison, she was the baby of the family. Nancy graduated from Guilford High School in 1974 and started her career with Illinois Bell/AT&T in the 80s and 90s. After the Rockford office closed, she went back to school to become a pharmacy technician and preschool teacher then worked part-time at CVS and full-time as a receptionist at Rosecrance on Harrison. Michael was a man determined to leave the world a better place than he found it. He was a social rights activist and a Rockford small business owner. Michael graduated from Guilford high school class of 1974, wherein his senior year, represented the gymnastics team at the state level. He worked for approximately 6 years at Sundstrand as a Technical Writer. Patrick T Young, 19, died at 2.55 a.m., Monday, April 8, 1974 in St Anthony Hospital after a three-month illness. Born Dec 15,1954 in Warsaw, IN, son of Mr and Mrs Edward C Young. Lived 12 years in Rockford after coming here from Indiana. Employed in trainee program of Crankshaft Grinding Co. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Awarded a diploma from Guilford High School April 8, 1974 in special ceremonies at his hospital bedside. Survivors include: his parents; three brothers, Terrence, serving with the U.S. Air Force in Barksdale AFB, LA and Timothy and Scott, both of home; a sister, Karen, of home; and four uncles, an aunt, and 14 cousins.
