Charles Vermace Jr.

1956-06-20 2006-05-05
Charles Edward Vermace, Jr., 49, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 5, 2006. Charles was born June 20, 1956 in Osaka, Japan, the first and only son born to Erika and Charles Vermace. After graduating from Seaside High School, Charles served our country in the United States Air Force for four years. Moving to Reno in 1992, Charles worked for 12 years as head of security for John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino in Sparks. He loved his job and people loved him. Charles always took it upon himself to serve and protect. In 2003, he moved back home to help his parents and we lost our mother Erika in February 2004 due to a stroke. This was very difficult for our family but Charles not only lost his mother but also his best friend. He took it upon himself to dedicate his life and his time to his father as his caregiver. At the time of this obituary, Charles was survived by his father, Charles Edward Vermace, Sr. and his sister, Sylvia Christine Vermace. Charles loved life and loved to laugh. A man of great patience and a good friend to many, he was always helping and giving unconditionally. An avid photographer, racecar driver, bicyclist and tennis player, he also collected coins and stamps and loved music. He enjoyed tinkering with computers and could fix anything he put his mind to. We who were blessed to cross his path will miss him greatly. We are sure that he is at peace in Heaven with his mother, guarding and protecting as always.
