HUBERT L. HOWARD, Educator, born Nov. 17, 1935 in Boston, Mass., died Nov. 16, 1991. A Veteran and graduate of Boston College. Mr. Howard taught English for one year at Al Hiram University in Bagdad before returning to the U.ß. to obtain a Master’s Degree in Philosophy at Niagara University. Mr. Howard taught for more than 20 years in the Cleveland School System, rising to become Chair of the Dept. At the time of his death Mr. Howard was a member of the faculty at John Adams High School. On several occasions in recent years Mr. Howard lead groups of students to Washington D.C. as part of the Close-Up Program, designed to introduce students to the workings of Government. He was also selected as a Favorite Faculty Member by Honor Students participating in a special program. Mr. Howard was a devoted Volunteer with the Playhouse and the Y,M.C.A. He was also an ardent Bridge player who participated in many Tourneys, achieving a Life Master status in the A.C.B.L. and the A.B.A. Mr. Howard is survived by a sister, two brothers, nieces, and nephews. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, 7 p.m. at the WM. A. GAINES FUNERAL HOME, 9116 UNION AVE., CLEVELAND, OH. 44105. VIEWING THURSDAY 9 A.M. UNTIL SERVICES.
