On Saturday, September 16, 2023 the Veronica Blount Memorial Foundation (501c3) will host a 3K Walk / Run at Meadowood Regional Park in Lutherville, Maryland. The event will also be available for those wishing to participate virtually by walking in their own neighborhoods or local parks. Event registration is $55 per person. The registration fee includes one event t-shirt, one event water bottle and one event lanyard with the walker / runner's credentials.
Registration starts at 8:30am ET and the walk will begin promptly at 9:00am ET. Local walkers are encouraged to attend in person while participants outside of Maryland are encouraged to participate virtually at a time most convenient to them. The walk is just under 2 miles and will take the average walker just under 60 minutes to walk. Participants are also allowed to run. Participants will register as a walker or runner.
Awards will be given to the 1st place walker and runner based on finished time. Each participant will have a fundraising goal of $250. Participants can solicit family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to support their efforts in the walk by donating to their team. Each participant will receive a raffle ticket for our GRAND Prize (valued at $500-$1,000) for every $100 they raise.
Our fundraising goal is $25,000. We need 100 walkers / runners to meet our fundraising goal. All proceeds from the walk will go towards purchasing 1,000 blood pressure monitors to be distributed to those in need.
There is no requirement to raise money in order to participate in the 3K Walk / Run. The registration fee covers the cost of the items you will receive in your walk packet. The registration fee is not tax deductible because you will receive merchandise. Donations are tax deductible in accordance with the IRS guidelines.
