Hutch died of a stroke in October, 2019. I was fortunate to have had him for a friend. He was able to square the circle of being a gay devout catholic and I admired his dedication to his faith. A good friend of ours once told me that what Hutch wanted most was to be able to find a partner and have someone to come home to. Hutch was able to do that and he had his husband by his side when he died. Hutch was a good friend and good man.

One of my classmates I really wanted to check-in with. So sad we won't get that opportunity.
