Jill and I met in at Lewis Ames Elementary in sixth grade and quickly became best friends. She was bubbly and bright, and we shared a common sense of humor. We lost touch when she went to what is now Western Colorado University in Gunnison and I started my first year at CSU. Though we lost touch over the years, I thought about Jill often and was shocked and saddened to learn of her passing.
