James L. Truitt, born June 11, 1956, passed away February 7, 2017, after a 10-year battle with brain cancer. Jim's sense of humor and his ability to laugh at himself supported him faithfully throughout his battle. Treatment was never easy nor did it ever abate; he endured one form of treatment or another for nearly the duration of his illness.

Born in Tampa, Florida, Jim was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and Denver. He moved to Seattle in 1983, joining E.F. Hutton where he began a long career in finance. Due to his illness, Jim retired from Bernstein in early 2009 spending time enjoying his favorite people and pastimes - family, friends, music, pipe collecting, and golf!

Jim is survived by his wife, Wendy Walters Truitt, and three sons. Jim was blessed with many friends and treasured the time he spent laughing with them in good times and bad.
