After graduation I spent a lot of time trying to figure my life out. I attended college for a couple years. Where I found out I did not like being stuck inside at a drafting table. I ended up driving truck for various companies and municipalities, short and long haul. I was married for a brief time, which resulted in my beautiful daughter Katie. I was still fumbling through life. Shortly thereafter I met my soon to be wife Christine, and her two awesome children; Angela and Jacob.. She gave me the encouragement to pursue my dream, as well as my education. I earned by Bachelor's Degree in Fire Services, and accepted a firefighter position with the City of Oswego. After 20 years of service, I retired as a Deputy Chief. Our retirement plan was to sell our existing home, buy a piece of property near Cazenovia, then build our forever home. But before we never planned for COVID. After sitting for a year waiting to see how the new normal was going to pan out, we call an audible. We bought a small motor home and started traveling the country. We have had the opportunity to visit some of this country's historical sites and scenic parks. It has been over three years now of a wonderful adventure. We also moved on the a bigger rig. We return to Cazenovia and the Philadelphia areas during the summer to visit family, especially the eight grandchildren. We have no idea when this adventure will end, however we will enjoy every minute we can. |

Two Truths and a Lie - Tell us three things you've done since graduation ... but ONE of which is a LIE! At our dinner party your old friends and classmates will have fun guessing which one is the lie:
I was the oldest recruit when I attended the Fire Academy. I once rode my motorcycle from Oswego, New York to Castine, Maine for a cup of coffee with my daughter and back. A total of 1200 miles in 22 hours. I saw Brett Farve's last game at Lambeau Field, as a Green Bay Packer. Actually.....I lied! I did attend the 2004 NFC game in Philly where he threw a late game interseption. The opposing quarterback was SU alumni Donovan McNabb! |

Two Truths and a Lie - Tell us three things you've done since graduation ... but ONE of which is a LIE! At our dinner party your old friends and classmates will have fun guessing which one is the lie:
1) Drove a rental car to San Diego to buy a service truck for my business. Left at midnight, set the radar cruise at 101 MPH and arrived at 3:30 am. I had reached senior citizen status that year. THAT IS A LIE Cruise was set at 99 MPH. If you are going over 100, they CAN tow and impound your car. I did not want that distraction. 2) Became ordained in the Universal Life Church Ministries in 2017. I married Beau Hadley in California and Jake James ( Jeff James son 6 months later in Florida. 3) Y2k year, went to Madrid and went to the night club Fortuney , where Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis frequented. Then went to the Island Ibiza, nightclubs opened at 2:00 am, clothing optional beaches with DJ's, warm mediterranean water. Boarded plane with Anderson Cooper from CNN returning. |

Two Truths and a Lie - Tell us three things you've done since graduation ... but ONE of which is a LIE! At our dinner party your old friends and classmates will have fun guessing which one is the lie:
I had my 1st child, 7lb 12 oz baby girl, in the front bucket seat of a dodge challenger, enroute to the hospital! Stan never pulled over. Baby and I were both healthy!! We moved to Las Vegas not knowing anyone. I joined a local women’s 50+ dodge ball team. In our 2nd year, we made regionals, then State and onto the Nationals, held in Las Vegas!! We came in 2nd, after a tough fight! I no longer play, but made lifelong friendships. *** This is the lie. Stan and I own a pet tarantula, named Stantula!!! We have built him a large gym ( it takes up a good part of my living room), and enjoy watching his adventures! We take plenty of videos and put them to music, sending them to friends and family! They are not as thrilled as we are! |

Two Truths and a Lie: #2 is the lie, I SAW John Denver at Jeffco Airport several times while taking lessons there, but never got more than a wave :-) Living in wedded bliss since 1980. Four absolutely fantastic children. I have been so incredibly blessed in this life, I hardly know where to begin! There have been some great highs (not that kind!) and some agonizing lows but through it all my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has brought me through. It's so hard to believe 50 years has come and gone! Whew! Blink of an eye! |

Two Truths and a Lie - Tell us three things you've done since graduation ... but ONE of which is a LIE! At our dinner party your old friends and classmates will have fun guessing which one is the lie:
1. In 1988 I catered the third wedding of "Bud" M. Scott Carpenter, the Mercury Seven Astronaut, in Palmer Lake, CO. all by myself and it was a tremendous success. 2. Met and yakked with John Denver about flying while taking flying lessons at Jeffco Airport in CO. He signed my logbook :-) 3. Had about a half hour long conversation with Muhammad Ali in the Detroit airport at about 12:30 AM when I was stuck there on Christmas Eve. in 1976. He was incredibly nice! #2 is the lie. I saw him there several times and had to wait for his wake turbulence to die down in order to take off in a little Piper Tomahawk!! |

I have had a variety of different job experiences working at art galleries, museums, and art associations. Currently, I am employed at Exeter Fine Crafts part-time. I met my wonderful husband in D.C. in 1983. We married and had 2 children. After relocating a lot, we settled in Newburyport, MA for 24 years. Now, we have a condominium just over the border in Seabrook, NH. Nearby there are many rail trails to walk and we have access and parking for the beach. Life is good. Our mini schnauzer and first grandchild, Tess, keep us smiling! |

Comment: Lots of adventures and lots of changes! After 29 years of marriage to Tiny (Dembicki), and the fun (and challenges) of helping her with our horse farm in Erieville, sadly Tiny passed away in 2009. In the process of finding homes for all of the remaining horses I was blessed to meet Julie, and three years later we were married. I had retired from my engineering roles at BeepCall and Cellular One in 1994, and from United Radio in 2001. I'm still passionate about flying, so now Julie and I are pursuing our mission of (flying to and) visiting every one of the 63 U.S. National Parks. | |
Two Truths and a Lie - Tell us three things you've done since graduation ... but ONE of which is a LIE! At our dinner party your old friends and classmates will have fun guessing which one is the lie:
1. I impersonated an airline pilot at Chicago O’Hare airport, used the phone behind their American Airlines check-in counter and directed passengers where to go, and then walked through to my gate with no TSA check. 2. I ran the sound system for an outdoor community theater performance in Utica, where I was called a shithead by the mayor. 3. I flew Sam Donaldson, ABC news anchor, in my little plane from Washington DC to Syracuse, to speak at the Salvation Army fundraiser, and in turbulence his head hit the ceiling and his toupée fell off. #3 is the LIE! I DID fly Sam Donaldson from DC to Syracuse. And we did encounter turbulence. And his head did hit the ceiling. But his toupée did NOT fall off. I was a bit afraid to turn around to look ... but I did ... and it didn't. Most people I spoke with at the reunion guessed my lie was #1. But that one was true! In my defense, I never actually TOLD anybody at O'Hare I was an airline pilot. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. It's not my fault that I wore a white shirt and a black tie and black pants and black shoes that day, and an ID tag hanging around my neck that just happened to look a LOT like an official airport ID, with my photo on it, and a bunch of small print, and an expiration date, and a three-letter airport code in large letters. It did NOT say O R D. It said V G C, which is our little Hamilton Airport. Oh well ... so much for security at O'Hare! |
