MINSTER — Steven A. Trzaska, age 49, of Minster, Ohio, died on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, following an accident at his family farm.

He was born on April 5, 1965 in Kettering, Ohio to Theodore and Theresa (Karpinski) Trzaska. They both survive in Dayton. He married Bonnie Schmiesing on Aug. 24, 1991, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Dayton. She survives in Minster.

He is also survived by children, Ted, Joe, Jenny, Phil, Jim and Beth, all at home; brothers and sisters, Tom and Mary Elizabeth Trzaska, Muskegon, Michigan, Cathy Trzaska, Oakwood, Ohio, Mary and Austin Welsh, Overland Park, Kansas, Ann and Mike Moell, Centerville, Ohio, Anthony and Lois Trzaska, Carmel, Indiana, Michael Trzaska, Kettering, Ohio; father-in-law, John J. Schmiesing; in-laws, Sam and Jane Schmiesing, New Bremen, Sue McDaniel, New Bremen, Phil and Robin Schmiesing, Enterprise, Alabama, Ken and Kathy Schmiesing, Hicksville, Ohio, Mary and Mark Bornhorst, Minster, Ohio, Dorothy and Steve Bruns, Minster, Ohio, Therese and Rod Smith, Phoenix, Arizona, Charlie and Kathy Schmiesing, Columbus Grove, Ohio, John and Jamie Schmiesing, Minster, Ohio, Gary and Courtney Silver, Eureka, California, and Martha and Steve Bohman, New Albany, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by mother-in-law Alice J. Schmiesing.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and Minster American Legion. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1983 and from Wright State in 1990. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a firefighter/paramedic for the city of Huber Heights for 18 ½ years and worked at the Bicycle Museum of America, New Bremen, Ohio. Steve had loved reading, riding his bike and spending time outdoors with his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, with the Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial with full military honors by the Minster Firing Squad will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trzaska Family Scholarship Fund.
