Rachel Richins

Marital status: Single
Children: 0
Occupation: Refinery Operator at Chevron Oil Company, SLC
Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): From 1973, I got married in 1975 to David Munk, divorced in 1976. My Dad had a heart attack in 1977 and never worked again. He died in 1981. So, in my 34 year career with Chevron, I assisted all but 2 of my siblings in going to college. I was one of the first 2 women to work as a refinery operator at Chevron in SLC. Ten years later, I transferred to the Chevron warehouse and spent 24 additional years there, with 2.7 million line items in that warehouse. In 2008, I retired because they were going to change computer systems for the sixth time, and I didn't want to change the tags on that many items! I was only 53 years old at time. I lived Woods Cross from 1988 - 2021. In 2021, I was diagnosed with arthritis, so I moved to the Tucson, AZ, area to help relieve that pain. I am very content, with two sisters in Southern Utah, two in Arizona, and two in New Mexico. Only two of my four brothers are living. Aaron works for the BLM in Alaska. My sister comes to pick me up in their private plane for me to go babysit my nieces. Another brother lives in Las Vegas as a professional bull rider. I've had a very eventful life, and have no complaints!

Julie Rigby (Loe)

Marital status: Married
Children: 7
Occupation: (In the process of retiring) business owner
Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): My first husband and I raised 4 beautiful children in Bountiful. We started a housekeeping business together (American Housekeeping) in 1991. However, he passed away in 1997 after 2 1/2 years suffering from a brain tumor. Tough times! Caring for an ill husband and running a business! He was only 45. Now, my kids are that age! I remarried, and grew the business, but then divorced after 9 years. I have been living the single life since 2008; working, dating, and dancing (ballroom, country, Latin and Argentine tango). I have also continued to enyoy art. I serverd as the Utah Watercolor Society president. I miraculously remarried last summer. So now, not only do I have my 4 kids, but also my husband's 3. Of course, they are all adults. I have 10 grandkids and one of them is married. Three of them have served LDS missions. My husband has 2 grandchildren. We split out time between St. George and South Jordan. And we have been traveling the world too! Good times and bad ones the past 50 years.

Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): Married Sandra Tilley. We have 5 children who are all married to wonderful spouses and we love our 16 grandchildren. After graduating from BYU, I pursued a career in business. For 30 years I worked for Larry H Miller Sports and Entertainment and the Utah Jazz. Upon retiring, I have been involved in various boards, in real estate development and business development. Sandra and I have just completed an LDS mission in Hawaii where we have assisted in the production of a major documentary that will be released in 2024. This documentary will feature the life experiences of various Polynesian students as they deal with work, education, culture and social challenges.

Jaclynne Rigby (Beecher)

Marital status: Married
Children: 3
Occupation: Retired
Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): Working up until retirement and playing ever since. We live at Bear Lake in the summer and go on Cruises in the winter. We have also taken our kids and family to a couple of all inclusive resorts, that was very fun! We remodeled our home 2 years ago, that was a huge project. We had 3 daughters till ten years ago when we lost our baby daughter (27) to drugs. We have 9 grandkids, one of which is serving a mission in England. We live in Kaysville and have for 49 years, except for a short time in Layton. We are going to be empty nesters for the first time, in a couple of months and are looking forward to that. It seemed like someone always needed a place to live. Kev loves Nascar and goes to the races every chance he gets. I love Amazon and I'm doing my best to keep them in business! All in all we have a great life and it will be 50 years of marriage next year. I still love Kev and am very happy!

Bill Robbins

Marital status: Married
Children: 6
Occupation: Self
Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): Noticed Paula Beecher at DHS. I was a senior she was a freshman. Been together since. Attended Weber University, then BYU. Spent most of the rest of that time maturing, then figuring out who I am. Attempted to help my six children do the same (all but five of them are girls). It's not easy. Beyond that.. still trying to get my wife to notice me. learning to love and enjoy everyone (that's easy & it's fun). Reconnecting with childhood friends & those I didn't get to know very well then. Thanks Ken & Joni for making it all much easier!!

Jeffrey Robins

Occupation: retired

Debbi Robins (Myrup)

Marital status: Single
Children: 1
Occupation: Retired

Raymond (Ray) Roper

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Dentist (retired)
Biography/Comment (What have you been doing for the last 50 years?): Immediately after graduation my family moved away. I quit my job at Slim's, said goodby to Lagoon and started my first of 3 summers on a Forest Service trail crew, mostly in the Uintas. Horses, dynamite, chainsaws. Camping and fishing all summer, what fun. Then on to BYU in the fall plus a part time job as a carpenter, eventually building a couple dozen houses in Springville. After a year and a half at BYU the administration informed me in a letter with ominous red printing my invitation to attend was in danger of being revoked. Nearly non-existent high school study habits followed me to college, but it was great fun anyway. As a result I thought it best to step back from formal education and accepted another invitation, to wear a white shirt and tie in Northern California.

Lazy no more, I returned 2 years later, continued building houses, and met nursing student Barbara Whitby of Alpine, Utah. Our 2nd date was hiking Timp. After a mountain-top guzzle of root beer she challenged me to a belching contest, and won. Turns out she is way smarter than me too, my kind of girl. Look no further.
About 5 years after leaving Davis I was finally ready for school again. This time for real. I’m saying I’m just a late bloomer. BYU again, kind of starting over, then on to Texas for dental school, my goal since 7th grade. Barb worked full time as an RN, had our 2 kids, and along with student loans supported the family. She continued working part time at the University of Colorado Hospital until her retirement at age 50.

After 4 years as an associate in Denver, I opened a dental practice in Boulder, Colorado where we continue to live and love it. In late 2020 I sold my quiet little practice after 32 years and retired. It was a great career choice for me, I really liked it most of the time. Precision tooth carpentry with people on the other end of my work. When I got to know patients who were 7th or 8th grade teachers, I told them they would probably not let me do this to them if they had been any of my teachers during those years. Staying the course may not always be the best way to go forward in life.

Barb and I have our own interests and activities but share many. Throughout our entire marriage we have spent countless days traveling, hiking, running, camping, backpacking, bicycling, and skiing. She now quilts, gardens, hikes or runs almost daily year round. ( often finishing near the top of her age group running 10Ks or half marathons.) Skis as much as possible, and is a wonderful grandmother to our 6. We have been a good match in retirement too. I still can't convince her to come to the reunion.

I continue our common activities but also love reading, photography, rebuilding decks, online chess, writing, old film noir movies, and naps with cats. Still trying to enjoy my favorite sport without embarrassment or injury, old man basketball at the local rec center, but maybe it's almost time for pickleball or just a game of horse instead. Over 20 years ago I became a stock photographer for istockphoto and Getty Images, selling over 100,000 images so far. I loved hiking and mountaineering, climbing 52 of Colorado's 14000 foot peaks as well as many other peaks in Utah and Colorado. I’m finding strenuous hiking difficult the past couple of years. Fun while it lasted.

Those long gone high school years were very enjoyable to me even though I participated in absolutely nothing aside from being 4th string left halfback on the 9th grade team. Nothing, not even dating. Except for working, I was very LAZY, rather shy and afraid of failure. Shortly before graduation I kind of wished I could have a do over, knowing what I then knew. But hey, things worked out just fine and I’m proud to be in the class of 1973. I did love feeling part of something even while feigning indifference. Assemblies and watching sports were my favorites. I was, and am still amazed and admire the poise, talent, and motivation shown by so many classmates at that age. 50 years? Wow. Sounds ominous to actually admit.

I have spent the last 50 years in the Layton/Kaysville area and as time had passed I have seen many classmates and their children and now, grandchildren in the community. It has been nice to stay in Davis County and raise my family. Time (and location) has allowed for reconnection with some of our classmates, which I have enjoyed and hope continues. I have good memories of growing up in Kaysville Utah and attending Davis High School with all of you and look forward to this 50 year reunion!
