How are Fees Calculated on Donations?

As the Organizer, you can choose how fees will be charged on donations.

There are 3 options for how to apply fees to donations:

1) Fees subtracted from donations -

As the organizer, you pay the transaction fees when someone makes a donation.

Below is an example how fees are calculated using the "Fees subtracted from Donations" option:

Someone makes a $100 Donation, with the "Fees subtracted from Donations" option (organizer pays the fees).

Donor Entered $ 100.00
Processing Rate 5.9%
Transaction  Fee $ 0.75
Total Fees $ 6.65
Fees paid by the Organizer ⬆️
Total Price  $ 100.00
You receive $ 93.35

2. Donors forced to pay fees -

When this option is selected, instead of the fees being taken out of the original donation (organizer pays fees), the donor is forced to pay the fees. You receive the full donation amount the donor entered in the donation field.

Below is an example how fees are calculated using the "Donors forced to pay fees" option:

Donor Entered $ 100.00
Processing Rate 5.9%
Ticket Fee $ 0.75
Total Fees $ 7.04
Fees paid by Buyer ⬆️
Total Price      $ 107.04
You receive    $ 100.00

The total paid by the donor is $107.04.

That's because there's also a 5.9% processing fee on the additional $6.65 of the $106.65 sub-total.

3. Donor has option to pay fees -

When this option is selected, you are giving the donor a choice if they want to to pay the fees or not. Therefore you might pay the fees on no donations, some donations, or all donations. You will likely receive a mix of donor paid fees and fees taken from the original donation.
