The Lewis-Mayfield Reunion is extended to all the descendents of Susie Lewis, who's children were Annie Mae, Georgia, Aquilla, Brunner, and Sylvester a.k.a. "Tot," and Nelson Mayfield and Gertrude Lewis-Mayfield, who's children were Savannah, Dilsey, Rosa Belle, Roy, Lou, Florida, Norman, Elizabeth, & Louella.

 

Being one of the younger generations of the Lewis-Mayfield family, my personal history begins with my grandfather, Brunner Lewis and his wife, Zola Hicks-Lewis. Their children were (oldest-youngest, and my aunts and uncles): Frances, Mack (my father), Clinton, Rhea Jean, Spencer Breard, Elva, Jimmy, Virginia. In order to make this a great event, we are asking that everyone (including those who are unable to attend), please add a profile, picture & current bio. This information is needed to create an accurate family tree and directory for future generations/reunions.

Bio: Born and raised in Utah, for as long as I can remember, I was fascinated by medical science and knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with my Associates degree in 2010, I've spent the past decade working as a Medical Assistant, primarily in Primary Care and Pediatrics. I'm currently in the process of obtaining my Bachelor's degree, after which I am going to start applying for graduate school to become a Physician Assistant/mid-level practitioner.



I am the eldest of four children, including my sister Sylvee (the youngest daughter of Spencer Rucker), our baby sister Talia, and our baby brother Justin. I currently reside in Orem, Utah with my fiance and long-term partner, Ben, and our 4 pet rabbits.

Mack H. Lewis II

Bio: I was born on October 11, 1987, to Pamela M. Lewis and Mack H. Lewis in Pomona, CA. I have two, amazing, loving, and strong-willed sisters, Josette, and Angelique, who have kept me grounded and strong. They have instilled in me the value of integrity, honesty and moral accountability to oneself and others.



At the tender age of four, I was diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy. When I was six, I moved to Grambling, LA to live with my dad, where I spent most of my formative years. I attended Glen View Elementary School, I.A. Lewis Middle School, Ruston Junior High School, and Ruston High School in Ruston, Louisiana.



My dad's mission was complete in 2001 and in 2003, my sister, Angelique, mom and I moved to Chicago, IL to live with Josette who moved from Grambling in 1996. Chicago is where I spent most of my young adult years and where I attended Benito Juarez Community Academy High School. While there, I participated in Mayor Daley's Book Club, Peer Jury, the GSA (gay-straight alliance), and was a member of the National Honor Society. I graduated in 2006 with a 3.0 G.P.A. and went on to attend Northern Illinois University through the C.H.A.N.C.E Program, where I was a Sociology major/Women's Studies minor and first-generation college student. I was actively involved in many campus organizations: PRISM, the LGBTQ student organization for LGBTQI students and their allies, T.R.I.O. Scholars, E.M.P.I.R.E. models. I did work-study as a Student Assistant at the LGBTQ Resource Center. I was continually active in my campus community and had a very heavy academic and social life. However, due to personal health and financial reasons, I did not finish my coursework to receive all my credits to graduate.



I currently reside in Philadelphia, PA with my partner, Justin, who has mild cerebral palsy too. No matter one's personal beliefs, I know that love conquers all, and everyone deserves to be happy. I am happy and whole and know that this human soul was designed for ME!



I am an avid reader; I like personal growth books, listen to motivational videos/podcasts, and watch cash stuffing (cash envelope system) on Youtube. I like to see the latest movies; watch Netflix and Hulu, and drag shows!



In my free time, I enjoy creating/maintaining websites, collecting stamps/coins, writing in my journal, and studying the Law of Attraction, Mindfulness, and High Sensitivity as an HSP (highly-sensitive person). My favorite author is Dr. Brene Brown, who studies courage, shame, and vulnerability. My ultimate goal is to be a published author, website developer and public speaker.



I am family-oriented & have very fond memories growing up in Grambling with my dad, aunts, uncles, and cousins that I cherish each day. I am proud to be a part of a supportive, and loving family. Yes, I am the one & the only Lil Mack or my Uncle Jimmy likes to call me Mack II. Either will do.

Bio: I am a 4th grade teacher in TX. I currently have a BS in Early Childhood Education and a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Reading. I am a life long learner! I am currently working on becoming a Reading Specialist. I recently got married and celebrated one year of marriage. I spent many summers in Grambling with my grandma Faye and family members.
