Deacon Mack Hillard Lewis was born in Vienna, Louisiana, August 1, 1942 to the late Brunner and Zola Hicks Lewis. He was the second of eight children. One brother, Spencer B. Lewis MD, preceded him in death.
Mack was educated in the Lincoln Parish School System where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. He united with the Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in 1949. He moved to California in 1960 where he lived for the next 35 years. While he was in California, he met and married Ms. Pamela Hays. To this union, three children were born.
Upon returning to Louisiana in 1995, he reunited with the Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church where he remained faithful until this death. He served as a Deacon and Director of the Men's Ministry and Junior Brotherhood. Through his hard work and dedication, the Men's Ministry is one of the strongest in the area. The monthly prayer breakfast is famous for it's array of dynamic speakers that Deacon Lewis assembled.
He leaves to cherish the memories, wife, Pamela Lewis, daughter, Angelique Lewis, son Mack Hillard Lewis, II all of Grambling, Louisiana; daughter, Josette Lewis of Chicago, Illinois, three grandchildren, Dejanae Wade and Troy Brown of Grambling, Louisiana, Auset Maat Kheru of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Francis, (James) Young, Rhea (Lemoyne), Brewster both of Ruston, Louisiana; Virginia (A.J.) Miller of Grambling, Louisiana; Elva (Francis) Chase of Killen, Texas; two brothers, Clinton (Catherine) Lewis of Marietta, Georgia and Jimmy (Miriam) Lewis of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
