Funeral services for Mr. Bruner Lewis, 84 of Grambling will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 A.M. at the Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Geanie Wills officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Our Christian Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Lewis died Friday, May 15, 1992, in North Monroe Community Hospital, Monroe, LA., following a lengthy illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Lincoln Pariah and was a member of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the finance committee. Mr. Lewis was a retired employee from Diamond Industries of Ruston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zola Mae Hicks-Lewis and one son, Spencer B. Lewis, M.D.

He leaves to bask in his light and grow in his wisdom, three sons: Mack H. Lewis & wife Pamela of Pomona, CA., Clinton Lewis & wife Cathy of Morgan Hills, CA., Jimmy Ray Lewis & wife Miriam of Baltimore, MD.; four daughters, Frances L. Young & husband James of Ruston, Rhea J. Rucker of Grambling, Elva L. Chase & husband Francis of Killeen, TX., Virginia Faye Miller & husband Andrew of Grambling; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Sylvester L. “Tot” Lewis & wife Agnes of Ruston, LA; two nephews he reared, B.J. Snowden of Grambling and Dave Morrow of Kalamazoo, MI.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Wake services will be held tonight from 7-8pm in the chapel of Our Christian Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday.

The Lewis family is incredibly grateful to everyone from the many expressions of sympathy and every act of kindness shown during the illness and death of our loved one. A more personal acknowledgement will be given at a later date.
