As an educator, Dr. Toombs served for over forty-two years in the capacity of a teacher, Pre-K to 12th gr., computer specialist, coordinator, and a principal. She received several professional awards: Outstanding New Teacher, Outstanding Job Performance, Regional Conference Presenter, Technology Teacher, and The Great Computer Challenge Sponsor Award.Dr. Toombs actively serves a Charter Member of Alpha Beta Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Hampton Chapter NHAA, Inc. Executive Board, Newport News Education Association Executive Board, Virginia Education Association Retired, York County, James City County, Williamsburg NAACP. Dr. Toombs also served as a Girl Scout Leader and 14th Mid-Atlantic Regional Director of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Dr. Toombs Dr. Toombs is married to Deacon Lindell C. Toombs, Sr., and they have four children: Lyntisha Malvin, Rev. Lindell C. Toombs, Jr., Esq., Lin Toombs, and Lynbea Toombs; a son-in-law Jerome Malvin; and two adorable grandchildren: Jerome P. Malvin, III, and Jasmine L. Malvin
