Ms. Jerotha D. 'Boo' Alston, 49, of Newport News, Va., passed away on Friday, March 4, 2005, at her residence, 612 20th St. She was preceded in death by her father, James Alston; brother, George A. Alston; paternal grandparents, John and Virear Hudson; and maternal grandfather, Eugene Alston. She was employed by the Daily Press in the housekeeping department and at Christopher Newport University in the housekeeping department. She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Christopher J. Alston of Gloucester, Va., and Howard 'Sweetie-Man' Alston and wife, Tanya, of Stone Mountain, Ga.; mother and stepfather, Hattie and James Hatchett of Newport News; two sisters, Evelyn E. Alston of Hampton, Va., and Barbara A. Alston of Newport News, Va.; two brothers, James L. Alston of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Vernon 'Sam' Alston of Newport News, Va.; one uncle, George N. Alston of Hampton, Va.; one aunt, Sylvia Alston of Hampton, Va.; three granddaughters, Bria Newby, Paris Newby and Ashlin Bergeron; plus a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
