William Edward Austin Sr., 55, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. He was born in Newport News on January 29, 1954, to the late Arthur and Velvet Austin. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Quen Outerbridge. Survivors include his wife, Verronical "Pam" Johnson-Austin; son and daughter, William Austin Jr., of Newport News, and India (Jerry) Bagley, of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; stepchildren, Ronald Goodwin Jr. and Elonda Goodman, both of Suffolk, Va.; brother and sister, Arthur Austin and Linda Wilson, both of Newport News, Va.; father-in-law, Overseer James J. (Valerie) Johnson, of Suffolk; three god sons, Darrius Bailey and Derrick Bailey, both of Suffolk, and Justin Barnett; one god daughter, Brooklyn Brown, of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
