Shizuko “Kori” Carpenter, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, flew home to be with her Heavenly Father on Feb.26,2007. S e was born on Jan.16,1956,in Tokyo, Japan; returned to the United States and moved to the Peninsula with her parents, eventually graduating from Denbigh High School in 1973.She was a Peninsula resident ever since. Kori worked as a Serials Assistant at the College of William & Mary Law Library; as a paper carrier for the Daily Press; and a multitude of other jobs in the course of providing for her family. She was also an active volunteer supporting the Youth Ministries and other activities at Warwick Memorial United Methodist Church, Brownies and Girl Scouts .She was an extraordinarily loving and giving person who routinely gave her time and resources to help others, rarely asking anything for herself. She is survived by her parents, Albert Monroe Jr. and Shizuko Takeuchi Dower; her brother ,Albert Monroe Dower III; her daughter and son-in-law, Angelique Kesano Rios and Eduardo Anel Rios; her two younger daughters, Kassaundra Jacquelyn Shizuko Dower-Carpenter and Miyoko Jasmine Grace Dower-Carpenter ;as well as her two grandchildren, Jenaysia Amari Rios and Eduardo Anel Rios Jr.
