On Dec. 24, 2005, George S. Baughans III was called to be with his Savior Jesus Christ. George was born July 20, 1955, in Newport News, Va., to George II and Janie Baughans George Baughans attended school in Newport News and graduated from Menchville High School in 1973. He worked at Newport News Shipbuilding until his illness. He also worked at Norshipco and Smithfield Packing Company during his early years. George, known as 'Manne' to so many, was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Nancy Holloman Mason Baughans; seven children, Ta-Tanisha Rodriguez (Dice) of Newport News, Timika Young of Richmond, George S. Baughans IV, Phillip Baughans, Michelle Baughans, Christopher Baughans and Monisha Baughans, all of Newport News; three grandchildren, Brindice Rodriguez, Jazine Rodriguez and Yesenia Rodriguez; five sisters, Janice Patterson of Napoleonville, La., Jinniffer Worthington of Newport News, Katherene Heyward (Ben) of Richmond, Cassandra Baughans of Yorktown and Samanthia Moore (Terrence) of Newport News; 13 brothers-in-law; eight sisters-in-law; father-in-law, Rufus Edwards (Shirley); a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, along with two great dear friends, Mrs. Ruby M. Davis and Mr. Page Gibbins.
