Curtis Kevin Warren, 46, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 28,2001. He was born in New York and raised in Newport News, Va. He attended the public schools of Newport News, including Huntington High School and graduating from Ferguson High School. He continued his education at Norfolk State University and Florida School of Technology. Upon graduation from Norfolk State University, he was commissioned into the United States Army as a second lieutenant. After serving tours in the United States, Germany and Bosnia, Curtis was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. At an early age, Curtis gave his life to Christ and joined Union Baptist Church in Newport News. He recently rededicated his life and united with First Baptist Church Denbigh. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Warren Sr.; his two brothers, Gerald Warren and Andre Harris; one sister, Gail Warren; grandmother, Rosa Barnes; and stepfather, Freddie . Harris. : Curtis is survived by his wife of 1 8 years, Josephine Copeland Warren; two daughters, A'Lelianne and Brittani Nicole Warren; mother, A'Lelia Wilder . Harris of New York; brother, Theodore Warren Jr. of Hampton; sisters, Maureen Jones and Valerie Harris of New York; grandfather, John H. Barnes of Newport News; devoted aunt, Marie Hardy; mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Annie B. Copeland; brothers-in-law, James (Jessie), Samuel (Lisa), Jeremiah, Johnny (Wanda); sister-in-law, Ann Copeland, all of North Carolina; and a host of relatives and friends.
