Valerie Hobbs Jones was born on June 20, 1955 to the late Paul and Annie Hobbes in Whitaker Memorial Hospital in Newport News. She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 9:50 pm at Sentara Hospital in Hampton. Her Welcoming Committee in Heaven will be her mother, Sister Annie Hobbs, Paul Hobbs (father), Karl Jones (husband) and Paul "Buck" Hobbs, brother.
She was a resident of Newport News and attended Newport News Public Schools. She graduated from Menchville High School in 1973. She attended TNCC and received her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1991.
Valerie, affectionately know as "Teensie" to her family, was reared by her parents in the Newport News Gospel Spreading Church of God.
In 1996, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Brother Karl Jones, Sr.
Valerie was a nurse for over 40 years, specializing in different areas. Valerie fulfilled her dream of owning a Home Health Company. In 2012 she started "All Ways There Home Care".
Valerie loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. When she stands before the Lord, He will say "Well done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant"
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kimberly Hobbs, 2 step children, Karl Jones, Jr. and Stacee Young, 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 1 brother and six sisters and a host of other family and friends that loved her.
