HAMPTON - Bobbie Jean Peoples went into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va.
Bobbie was born April 8, 1954, in High Point, N.C., to the late Levern and Dora Norman. She graduated from Warwick High School in 1973. Bobbie was employed with Avon for 12 years and Howmet Casting for 21 years. She retired from Howmet July 31, 2010.
Bobbie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who truly loved the Lord. She was a member of Bethel Temple in Hampton, Va., and served as a Greeter. Bobbie was always kind and loving. She would often put others before herself and she loved her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Evander Norman; her father, Levern Norman; and her sister, Dorothy Norman.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving and devoted husband of 27 years, Jasper. Together they shared a love story that lasted 34 years. Her mother, Dora Norman; daughters, Tenishia Peoples of Suffolk, Va., and Tonya Griffin (Chris) of Hampton, Va.; three grandsons, Marcus Haskett, Marcell Haskett and Christopher Griffin Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn McCallum (Leon) of Yorktown, Va., and Marie Burns (Clifton) of Hampton, Va.; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
